MAN — Characters (萬)
Numbers 1–9 written as Chinese characters.
The red 萬 beneath each tile means "ten thousand." 一=1 二=2 三=3 四=4 五=5 六=6 七=7 八=8 九=9
PIN — Circles (筒)
Numbers 1–9 shown as blue dot patterns.
The number of dots = the tile value.
Think of them like dominoes or dice dots.
SOU — Bamboo (竹)
Numbers 1–9 shown as green bamboo stalks.
The number above + 竹 (bamboo) tells you the value.
The easiest suit to count quickly.
WIND — Honours (風)
4 tiles: 東 East · 南 South · 西 West · 北 North
Each player is assigned a wind seat.
Collecting your own wind tile gives bonus points.
Cannot form sequences — triplets only.
DRAGON — Honours (字)
3 tiles: 中 Chun (Red) — most valuable dragon 發 Hatsu (Green) — prosperity 白 Haku (White) — blank/pure
Any dragon triplet gives bonus points.
⚡ ACTIONS EXPLAINED
DISCARD
Your main action every turn. Tap a tile in your hand to select it (it lifts up), then tap DISCARD to throw it to the centre pool. Everyone can see discarded tiles.
CHI
Claim to form a sequence. Only usable from the player directly to your left. Example: you hold 2-3 Man, left player discards 1 Man → claim CHI to form 1-2-3. Numbered suits only (Man/Pin/Sou).
PUNG
Claim to form a triplet. You hold 2 identical tiles, anyone discards the 3rd → claim PUNG. Works with any tile including Wind and Dragon. You must then discard a tile.
KONG
Claim to form a quad (4 of a kind). You hold 3 identical tiles, someone discards the 4th → claim KONG. You draw an extra tile from the wall and then discard.
MAHJONG!
Declare your winning hand! Either by drawing the tile you need yourself (Tsumo / self-draw) or when another player discards your winning tile (Ron). See below for what counts as a winning hand.

A winning hand is 14 tiles made up of: 4 sets (sequences or triplets) + 1 pair
EXAMPLE — Standard Hand
SPECIAL — Seven Pairs
7 different pairs of identical tiles = instant win with bonus points. No sequences needed.
